Freebies!

My beloved fashion-blogger-sister is giving away cupcakes...just because she is generous like that and she likes to enslave me in the kitchen!

To know more about her giveaway check out gee-secrets.blogspot.com. The competition started last night and we are already counting winners.

Congratulations to those who won and you'll be enjoying this in no time!
Enjoy the Bleeding Love Cupcake!

For my friends who are asking if they can order, I will take a break from my Ormoc kitchen. Duty calls, will be away for a year! But hey, if after one year and you still feel the love for my bleeding love, I'd love to make you some. Thank you!

The chef is on for a change.

My sister, Ganna, who's a fashion blogger, told me to revamp my blog and turn this into something more public-reading-worthy. She told me to change name and every thing. So, I made a new signature for my blog.

TUH-DAH!
Igat ra? I know,right?
Why this photo? Well...Star Anise, one of my favorite spice, represents what I do--- Kitchen girl, right here y'all! A floral background to show how much I embrace being a lady. And pink, because I simply like pastels and they look so feminine.

For the best friend of the blogger.

Last friday was my best friend and travel buddy's birthday, thus I decided to bake for her. For our love of food and everything sweet, what better gift than cupcakes!

Here's a new addition to my original recipes, Cafe Mocha Cupcakes.

I have been so in love with coffee for such a long time, so I tried making a cupcake version of Cafe Mocha.

I also made my first successful cupcake experiment, The Bleeding Love Cupcake.
This has got to be my all time favorite. My friends and friends of friends say this is better than the typical and all too familiar Red Velvet. Or are my friends just too nice? Hahaha
For my bestfriend-slash-travel-buddy.

Still working on my writing skills.
A cupcake buffet set-up for no one.

Secrets and Spices wander in Tacloban City.

Happy Sunday!

Too glad today amidst waking up early, as early as 5 am, and the long drive to Tacloban. All the uncomfortable feeling I had were forgotten when I saw my beloved sister!

While mama and her friends were busy having coffee at the wharf at Leyte Golf and Country Club, me and my sister were busy taking photos. Actually, we were supposed to shoot for Ganna's blog but I am sucked big time at photography so she taught me how to do it properly. The results were these photos.

Top from Zara | Jeans from Marks and Spencer | Shades from Ray Ban
We went to Tacloban for two reasons, to fetch Ganna and to celebrate the feast of Virgen de Pena Francia with the rest of the devotees. Knowing we'd be with a lot of people and assuming it'd be a really hot day, I decided to wear the most comfortable clothes I had in my luggage.

Showing off my sister's pasalubong...a neon pink stud earrings from Aldo.

This is my sister's favorite photo, for some odd reasons.

Presenting, the girl behind Secrets of Gee.

I am so proud of my sister, not only will she soon be a civil engineer but a civil engineer with a flair!

Food and Streets of Bangkok

I have walked the streets of Bangkok and have seen many things-- delightful, edible, wonderful Thai things.

Here are some of the lovely things I have experienced and seen as we, me and my best friend  Kimberley Burden,  walked our way every morning and afternoon to the train station. Our olfactory nerves were brought to bliss as we passed by food stalls along the streets; as we all know Bangkok is famous for their street food. And boy, have I understood why.

I see familiar fruits...Rambutan, Apples, Mangosteen and Mangoes.

The best thing you could ever get before leaving the beautiful city of Bangkok.

Mall rats that we are, we always found ourselves wanting to visit every mall in Siam. I was so amazed that my every dessert cravings were satisfied. Even more satisfied and amazed to have observed how food courts were very sophisticated and elegant, how one floor could be filled with all high-quality pastries, cakes and savory goodness! These next photos are taken from the food courts in the shopping malls of Siam and at Terminal 21 (a mall with every floor having varying country-inspirations/themes)

Frozen Cheesecake overload!!

Honeydew Melon Cheesecake. I ate this because I was missing my sister Ganna and this is her favorite flavor.

On to the notorious street of Patpong! I should say, my Bangkok experience wouldn't have been as fun and memorable as it turned out had I not walked up the stairs and watched a ladyboy show. My my my, I have seen my life flash before my eyes.

On our way to the Grand Palace, we took the MRT and grabbed some heavy drinks-- Milk Tea, for our breakfast! We are that tough, we can get by our morning adventures with just a few ounces of milk tea. Well, milk tea are really calorie-loaded so a serving should keep you going.

I was nervous to have trusted my camera to a stranger but we really wanted to have our photo together before and during our Tuktuk ride. Bucket list thing, y'all!

Now on the streets of old Siam. :)
